Dash With Cash
Having been rejected to register tenders with the Land Commission, Charles Goodnight, “Buck” Walton, and William B Munson took out a loan for $100,000, placed it in a wheelborrow, then hired a Negro bank porter to push it back to the land office. The cowboys were armed to discourage those seeking a shortcut to fortune.
Preliminary working sketch.
Moved 4th cowboy back to give more weight to the right. Also added the hitching rail and the dog to ground the bottom corner. Chose the sleepy dog to contrast with the intense cowboys for some interest Added the Cafe sign to put more focus on Charles. The hanging lights were added to give some interest to the darkened doorway.
